There is usually a distinct change in the seasons in late October or November, with slightly cooler days, and the the first evenings below 20 degrees Celsius. As always, the south is generally sunnier, so if you want to maximise your sunshine hours, it is best to stay there.
Daytime High Temperatures
The average daily high at Tenerife South Airport is 24.8°C in November. Daily highs average 24.1°C in Santa Cruz, but are slightly cooler in Puerto de la Cruz. At Tenerife North Airport, the average high is 19.6°C, and just 11°C at the Izaña Weather Station (2371m).
In the south, daily maximums range between about 22 and 29 degrees Celsius in November.
Nighttime Low Temperatures
Around the coast, temperatures drop to around 18 or 19°C on average – just cool enough that you may want to pack a light jacket or sweater in order to sit outside on the cooler evenings.
Away from the coast, it can get quite a bit cooler and Tenerife North Airport sees nightly lows of 13.3°C, while Izaña sees average lows of 4.4°C in November. Mount Teide can occasionally see the first snow at this time of year, though this doesn’t usually happen until January or February.
Cloudy?
November can be a little cloudy, but as always, the north is a lot cloudier than the south. Tenerife South Airport sees an average of 3.2 completely overcast days during November, while Tenerife North Airport sees an average of 5.9. Santa Cruz can also be fairly cloudy at this time of year with an average of 6.2 completely overcast days, and just 2 completely clear ones.
Rain
November can see a fair amount of rain, but as usual the northern slopes see a lot more than the dry south. Tenerife South Airport sees an average of 34.1mm and 8.8 days with appreciable rain during the month. Tenerife North Airport sees an average of 11.5 days with appreciable rain in November with an average total of 81.1mm over the course of the month.
Sea Temperature
The sea around Tenerife is usually around 21 or 22°C in November. This is fine for most people to enjoy a quick swim on a sunny day. If you plan on spending long periods in the water (e.g. surfing or snorkelling), you may want a wetsuit – especially towards the end of the month.
