By Airport Transfer

A pre-booked airport shuttle transfer costs around €7 and takes you all the way to your hotel! A private transfer for up to 4 passengers costs about €55 – which is more than a taxi, but means that you avoid queues. Vehicles for larger groups can also be pre-booked. By Bus

Several public bus routes connect Tenerife South Airport with Costa Adeje Bus Station – including the night-time 711 route between Santa Cruz and Costa Adeje (stopping at the airport on the way). The most frequent route is the number 40 between Tenerife South Airport and Costa Adeje Bus Station which runs every 30 minutes during the day. The 343 and 111 routes also stop at both Tenerife South Airport and Costa Adeje. The journey takes about 40 minutes and costs €3.70. You should note that the Costa Adeje Bus Station is located at the far southern end of Costa Adeje, and is about 3km from the Playa del Duque area, so you will probably have to get a taxi from the bus station to your hotel. More information can be found at the public bus website here.

By Car

As you leave the airport, follow the signs for Los Cristianos until you are on the TF-1 Motorway. Follow the motorway for about 18 kilometers, past Los Cristianos and Playa de las Americas, and then take the exit marked “78 – Costa Adeje – La Caleta – Fañabe”. Then take the third exit at the roundabout following the sign marked “La Caleta” and follow the road towards the coast – from here most of the hotels are signposted.

Note that if you are staying closer to Playa Fañabe at the southern end of Costa Adeje, then you should leave the motorway earlier at the exit marked “Salida 76 – Torviscas – Playa Fañabe – cambio de sentido”. Do not take the initial (sharp) right after coming off the motorway, but instead follow the sign for Playa Fañabe. Also note that ‘Adeje’ is the name of the municipal capital which lies a few kilometers inland, so do not follow the signs for ‘Adeje’.

By Taxi

It costs around €28 for a taxi from Tenerife South to Costa Adeje and the journey time is around 25 minutes. There is not normally a long wait at the airport taxi rank, however waits of up to an hour are possible during busy peak periods..

What’s the best way with public transport from south Tenerife airport to sunset bay in Adele ?

    • administrator

Hi, I would suggest you get the number 40 bus from the Airport to Costa Adeje Bus Station, and then a Taxi from there to your accommodation (short journeys inside an urban area are inexpensive by taxi).

Hi, is the Shuttle Spain Transfers company reliable? I am trying to organise airport transfer to Costa Adeje Palace for my parents and don’t want them to be stranded! It does seem very cheap compared to other organisations/taxis etc.

Hi We will be arriving at TFS on Thursday morning.
We have to get to Avinada de la Constitucion Adeje
    please advise

Hi, There is no direct bus route, so you would need get the no. 40 or 343 from the airport to Los Cristianos Bus Station, and then the 447 bus from there to Adeje. There are other buses to Adeje, but the 447 stops on the Avenida de la Constitucion.
Please note that Adeje and Costa Adeje are two different places.

Hi, we arriving on Tenerife south about 22.30, what is the best way to get to Laguna Park II
Costa Adeje? Any buses at night time?

    • administrator

Hi, That time doesn’t coincide very well with the public buses, so you would probably be better off pre-booking a transfer – especially if you don’t know where you are going:

  10. Nick

Hi there, we’re travelling to Costa Adeje in mid November and arrive into TFS at 13.50. Our hotel is close to Laguna Park 2. We were considering taking the no.40 bus from TFS to the bus station in costa Adeje and completing the journey by taxi. However, we have a 3 year old so we would need a taxi with a car seat. Is there a taxi rank outside / near to the bus station? If so, is it realistic to expect them to have a car seat available?
    Thanks in advance!

    • administrator

Hi, There is a Taxi rank right beside the bus station, however I don’t know if you will be able to find a taxi with a child seat. It might be better to book a transfer: https://bit.ly/3zEILMy

Hi, we land at TFS april 6th at 16:55. We’re going to Chill out Tesoro. Which bus do we take?

    • administrator

Hi, Your accommodation appears to be in Adeje (not Costa Adeje), so there is no direct bus. You would need to get the number 40 to Costa Adeje Bus Station, and then a 417, 460, 471 or 473 from there to Adeje.

We are travelling from Tenerife south airport to the regency toviscas Costa Adeje midweek arriving at 18:30 pm any advice on transport ?

    Thanks in advance

Hi, You could get the no.40 from the Airport to Los Cristianos, and then a no.424 from there to the ‘Cataluña’ bus top. To be honest, if you have not been before and don’t know where you are going, then a transfer might be a more convenient option:

Hi, How can I get a ticket for the bus to travel from Tenerife South to Costa Adeje ?
Can I pay by a bank card in the bus, or do I need to buy a bus travel card in the airport ?
    Thanks

    • administrator

Hi, You can pay on the bus with contactless bank card or mobile, or with cash.

  21. pete

    Hi,

The shuttle (shared?) transfer you reference is higher than mentioned. For 3 from TFS to Costa Adeje hotel RT is 44 euro.

How many stops? More concerned about the return. I figure they leave way ahead of when you’d want to leave so they can do other pickups. Yes/no?

Taxi is about 70 RT you say? Is that fixed rate or meter? For 20 or so more than the shuttle may be worth it and no hassle, especially with the return on the shared shuttle.

Curious, it take public bus, will be many stops but from Costa bus station. How much is taxi to hotel – approx? Again, savings probably not worth the hassle.

    Thanks!

    • administrator

Hi, I have now updated the article with current prices. Yes, the shared transfer does leave well in advance so that it can pick up other passengers. This depends on which hotel you are in – the hotel closest to the airport will be last to pick up, so has the least stops. Sometimes you can find yourself in a shared transfer with no other pickups and just your group.
Taxis are metered, so can vary. There is sometimes a queue.
There are 12 stops on the bus.
      Taxi will be €25 – €35.

    Hi

Travelling from TFS to – Urbanizacion Sueño Azul, 117, 38678 Callao Salvaje, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain

What is the best solution for 3 and 5 people with luggage – arriving late 19:30
also on the way back flight is 11:55am – need a guarnteed solution – some of the horror stories abot welcome pickup taxi service are really eye opening.

    • administrator

Hi, Your best option is to book a transfer. Select ‘MYND Adeje, Callao Salvaje’ as your destination as this is the nearest Hotel (you always need to select a Hotel, as transfers do not drop off/ pick-up from private addresses).

Hi, You should get the 415 to Tenerife South Airport, and then a no.10 from there to Santa Cruz.

  24. Piotr

    Hi,
we’ll be staying at Parque del Sol, Calle Londres. Is there a stop for the shared transfer? Thank you.

Hi, The Iberostar Selection Anthelia is right beside Parque del Sol, so that would be a good one to choose.
